Blackmores at Warriewood have now lodged their sixth modification of consent application with the Northern Beaches Council in an attempt to modify their original consent conditions.
Shouldn’t there be a limit to how many Section 96 modification applications can be lodged to vary original consent conditions ?
Blackmores are attempting to gain approval to alter the noise restrictions on their operations that were set with original DA consent.
This will affect many dwellings within earshot of the Blackmores Warriewood factory especially with their all night operations.
Blackmore's noise report only includes the 2 closest dwellings but at night noise travels far greater distance and affects a far grater number of people than during the day in their much needed sleeping hours.
Pallet storage and packing of products outside the building is not permitted in their current consent, all must be done inside the building. During the day this unauthorised activity results in much additional noise of operations.
But at night it is intolerable with forklifts operating outside at night with reverse beepers, banging while stacking pallets and the dropping of pallets all creates noise disturbance all through the night when people are trying to sleep.
This is in breach of original consent conditions and it’s been going on far too long now. To grant modification consent to now authorise these night work activities as apart of any consent will be a disaster for residents living nearby.
Blackmores are not being “Good Neighbours” in relation to these matters.
Another safety issue is that Blackmores delivery trucks do dangerous manoeuvres of reversing and turning of the trucks on Jubilee Ave and at the intersection of Foley St.
This is also detailed with evidence photos in the resident submission at the bottom of this page.
