SYDNEY’S NORTHERN BEACHES LOCAL HOUSING STRATEGY – 2021
A new version of the discredited Mona Vale Place Plan is to be foisted on Pittwater. Planning Minister Rob Stokes wants medium density across the board. Mayor Michael Regan will sacrifice our villages to high-rise. Either way we lose!

Mona Vale Road East development – rampant clearing, inadequate erosion controls, a hopelessly unsecured work site along with blocked drains, rubbish, rocks and gravel strewn across Mona Vale Road - yet another rushed NSW Govt. contract with inadequate controls. Having diligently spruiked the project, we will shortly find out if Rob Stokes pays more than just lip service to safety and environmental concerns. Or is it a cut-price job because Ingleside is not going ahead?

LATEST PROBLEM FOR MONA VALE IS
B-LINE
Transport for NSW is proposing to remove the grass mounds and 21 well established trees in Village Park Mona Vale for a new B-Line Bus Stop. 36 casual and sports reserve parking spots will also be lost to commuter parking in Beeby Park. We need your help to fight this terrible proposal.

B-LINE TO DEMOLISH GUIDE HALL, SCOUT HALL & TENNIS CLUBHOUSE
HELP SAVE THE MONA VALE SCOUT HALL, GUIDE HALL AND TENNIS CLUB - SIGN THE PETITION
https://www.change.org/p/save-mona-vale-girl-guides-hall-scout-hall-and-tennis-club-house-from-demolition?recruiter=558946745&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive
The Baird Government with it's right arm Transport for NSW wants to demolish the Mona Vale Girls Guide Hall, Scout Hall and Tennis Club to make way for just 75 extra park and ride spaces in Beeby Park for the B-Line bus service. This was only announced at the 11th hour at the last B-Line Public Meeting 31 May 16. This is a disgrace, how can this be allowed to happen. Where is the public consultation and exhibition period??
Transport for NSW held meetings with Pittwater Council and Crown Lands to discuss the proposed car park and halls demolition. The Crown and Council it seems didn't have any concerns, so Transport for NSW went ahead got a Heads of Agreement signed by the Council and drew up plans for the new car park including demolishing the 3 community buildings.
The only problem is at no stage before doing this did Transport for NSW consult with the stakeholders, The Guides, Scouts and Tennis Club.
The Guides and Scouts have over 60 years history in this location and Transport for NSW now wants to demolish these 3 community buildings. They say new facilities will be built but these are all going to be together in one building, the Guides at the front, Scouts at the rear and the Tennis Club stuck up on the roof of the two storey building.
Each hall will be much smaller than it is now, the Guides and Scouts who currently have care, control and management of and own their buildings will no longer have this asset which they are being coerced into giving up. It will likely be a lease arrangement with the Council with no ownership or control over their new halls.
There will be no outdoor activity play area as there is now, the back of the Scout Hall is hard to the boundary of the Golf Course, the front of the Guide Hall where the verandah is going has the nose of 15 cars parked hard to the verandah. The Tennis club which is to be located on the second storey will loose all connectivity with the 4 tennis courts.
The 54 current casual 4 hour parking spaces in Beeby Park will be reduced to just 15 spaces. There will be virtually no parking for the Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and Tennis players, no drop off and pick up area, just a greedy grab by the NSW Government and Transport for NSW for a mere 75 extra car spaces for commuter parking, not even 1 Bendy Bus which has 114 passengers.
There has never been any public consultation on this, no public exhibition period where the community of Mona Vale could give feedback. It was, this is what we are going to do, it's already been decided. All meetings between Transport for NSW on this demolition proposal have been closed to the public meetings with just stakeholder representation. Beeby Park and Kitchener Park is Crown Land, it is Public Land, it belongs to the public and yet the public are being excluded from discussions in this proposal.
There are many other options that the 3 community has presented to Transport for NSW to achieve the extra 75 commuter car spaces which will see the Mona Vale Guides, Scouts and Tennis Club remain where they are, but they are not interested.
They are being unreasonable to the point of stubbornness with the unrelenting push to get the Crown Land, Public Land the 3 community buildings are sitting on for no ones interest except 75 extra privileged commuters who get free parking all day at a cost to the ratepayers of $40,000 per spot.
The community has to object and put pressure on Premier Mike Baird and Transport for NSW to "Save Our Community Buildings".

Three options have been given to Transport for NSW to consider which will save the community buildings. See file below, they make perfect sense.
