A PRIVATE hospital of up to 99 beds which would provide rehabilitation and recovery services has been proposed for Warriewood. A new hospital operator, Hospital Management Partners in Sydney, has filed a development application for its first project, Pittwater Private Hospital, in Daydream St.
The service would provide short- to long-stay accommodation for patients recovering from surgery and medical conditions and provide medical, rehabilitation and palliative care.
The facility would have 63 bedrooms, three surgery theatres, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, treatment rooms, conference facilities and consulting rooms, the application said.
Chief executive Ben Dillon said the business was conscious of unmet demand for private beds and had chosen Warriewood based on market research.
If authorities approve the plans, Mr Dillon said he hoped the hospital would open in 2017.
The DA can be viewed at Pittwater Council’s website.
The Joint Regional Planning Panel will decide the application as it is worth more than $20 million.
